SAPOA appoints new Board Members
The South African Property Owners Association has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors - Marius Muller and Mike Deighton.
In their professional capacities, Muller is the CEO of Pareto, a shopping centre-owning property company with a market capitalisation of about of R15 billion, and Deighton is the CEO of leading private land developers Tongaat Hulett Developments.
“Muller and Deighton are both respected and knowledgeable professionals in their field and SAPOA is pleased that its members will benefit from their skills and experience,” says Neil Gopal, CEO of SAPOA.
Muller has been involved in the property industry since 1993, is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds both a B.Sc. (Q.S.) and M.B.A. degree. He has served on numerous industry bodies being the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, SA Council of Shopping Centres, SAPOA, SA Institute of Black Property Professionals, Association of SA Quantity Surveyors and SA Institute of Building.
Muller is passionate about retail property and, prior to joining Pareto, he was extensively involved with the listing of Resilient Property Income Fund on the JSE Stock Exchange.
Civil Engineer Deighton is member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering and holds a B.Com (Hons.) degree. He has been involved in a wide range of developments since 1995, and was the development manager for the Umhlanga Ridge Town Centre in KwaZulu-Natal.
Mike served as chairman of the Umhlanga Area Committee of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry and now serves on the board of the chamber. He has also served as director and board chairman on several Management Associations established to drive urban management best practices in a range of precincts around Durban.
Mike Deighton joins The South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Board of Directors.
