RESIDENTS from Ward 41 staged a sit-in at the offices of the Housing Development Agency (HDA) in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

Community leader Simphiwe Waka said the HDA had failed on its promise.

“The agency was suppose to introduce contractors [for various projects] on Tuesday, but that did not happen,” he said. Houses need to be built at Chatty 1060, Khayamnandi and Joe Slovo West.

“Rather, the HDA invested the budget funds.”

Residents called for the axing of HDA programme manager Nicholas Tsewu.
