Broll Namibia sweeps the board at annual O&L 12 Seasons Awards
Broll Namibia has swept the boards in the annual Ohlthaver & List Group of Companies’ 12 Seasons Awards held in Windhoek.
For the second year running, Broll Namibia was named Top Performer in the O&L Group, a diversified Namibian group of companies which numbers its property portfolio as among its top revenue contributors.
This was reflected in the company also being singled out for its financial performance to the group as the overall winner; Broll Namibia was also rated No 1 within the O&L Group as the Best Company to Work For.
In addition, Broll Namibia was named first runner-up for Operational Excellence and second runner-up for Creating an Excellent Trust Relationship with its customers.
“Once again I am extremely proud of Broll Namibia’s success during the O&L 12 Seasons Awards,” says Marco Wenk, MD of Broll Namibia. “I thank everyone for their contribution, commitment and dedication. Teamwork and support for each other were instrumental in achieving extraordinary results.”
Among other companies in O&L’s portfolio are Namibia Breweries, Namibia Dairies, Hangana Seafood, Pick n Pay, Dimension Data Namibia, Kraatz Marine, O&L Leisure, Mugg & Bean, Milky Lane and Ocean Basket.
Established in 2003 through a joint venture with O&L, Broll Namibia has swiftly grown to a leadership position in the commercial and retail property sectors and now manages a portfolio exceeding N$1 billion.
Over the past three years Broll Namibia has improved and grown the O&L portfolio with the aim of maximising its asset value. This has been done by growing GLA, rental revenue and cost optimisation. Investments of N$280 million were made in strategic properties which include:
• A N$185 million retail extension to Wernhil Park Shopping Centre, increasing GLA by 12 000m2;
• A N$70 million office and retail upgrade and extension to Carl List Haus
• A N$20 million retail upgrade to the 5 000m2 Seagulls Shopping Mall
These investments increased the portfolio value from N$620 million in 2009 to N$ 1.1 billion in 2011. Broll Namibia’s responsibilities included the overall project co-ordination, project management, leasing and property management services. Over and above this, Broll Namibia is responsible for the asset management of O&L’s commercial portfolio.
