Cape Town’s increasingly elevated global status as a leading destination struck a further chord for the Pam Golding Property (PGP) group, which was presented with two major awards at the International Property Awards recently held in Dubai (17 November 2011). The property group has its headquarters in Cape Town.

Competing against national real estate companies on the continent and meeting the stringent judging criteria, the PGP group received the awards for ‘Best Real Estate Agency South Africa’ and ‘Best Real Estate Agency Africa’.  As winner on the African continent the group now goes forward to compete against other five-star winners in other regions of the world, namely Asia Pacific, Europe, Arabia, UK and the Americas, with the winners in each category being identified as the ‘World’s Best – to be announced in London on 12 December 2011.

Comments Dr Andrew Golding, CE of the Pam Golding Property group: “Cape Town is an undisputed world class city which is constantly raising the bar - being ranked first on TripAdvisor’s list of Top 25 Destinations in the World in the Travellers’ Choice Awards 2011, and recently declared World Design Capital 2014. Entrants to the International Property Awards had to base their entry on one selected office within the organisation. We focused on our Sea Point – Atlantic Seaboard office, established some 30 years ago and a flagship for the company, servicing Cape Town’s prime coastal region which is home to some of South Africa’s most sought after real estate.”

High end sales of residential property by PGP in Cape Town currently achieves prices in excess of R20 million, with current mandates for homes marketed up to R110 million.

With a panel of judges comprising over 80 experts and covering every aspect of the property business, the International Property Awards are regarded as the world’s most prestigious property competition. This year’s judges include James Bacon, UK account manager of Google; Peter Bolton King, group chief executive of the National Federation of Property Professionals; David Dalby of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and Mike McNamara of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

In addition to these awards, the PGP group has once again been awarded Superbrands status, which is reserved for the world’s leading, exceptional brands.
