Civil engineering group Protech Khuthele has appointed Antony Page as its new CEO from September 1, the company announced.

Page is currently the MD at Grinaker-LTA Earthworks Engineering business, a position he has held since 2007, and has held several senior management and executive positions during his 28-year career in the construction and civil engineering industry.

“This position [as MD] has given him senior executive experience across the whole spectrum of multidisciplinary construction activities, as well as major projects,” the company said in a statement.

Page takes over from acting CEO Julian Dovey, who has filled the position since December 1, following the resignation of founder Gerald Chapman.

Chairperson Mafahle Mareletse previously said the board would be looking to appoint an external CEO to take the company “to the next level” and for someone with considerable experience.

Protech Khuthele increased its revenue to R1,07-billion in its 2011 financial year and is expected to spend about R226,4-million in 2012. It has a project pipeline of R1.4-billion.
