Esor H1 HEPS 2.01c from loss of 6.59c
Construction group Esor lifted headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months to end August to 2.01c from a previous loss of 6.59c‚ the group reported on Thursday.
Revenue decreased by 2.2% to R772.6m and gross profit grew by 56.3% to R51.5m. Operating profit jumped 142.6% to R13.2m from a previous loss of R30.9m. Attributable profit of R6.2m was recorded from a loss of R24m.
The group said the general market outlook was not expected to change in the foreseeable future.
“There has been a slight uptick in tender activity although no commensurate increase in awards.”
At August 31‚ the group order book totalled R1.62bn from R1.94bn in February 2015‚ marking a decline in line with industry conditions as well as the group’s strategy of focusing on existing work.
At 9.28am Esor shares were untraded at 29c.
