Historic Game Farm Fetches R15, 525, 000 on auction
Auction Alliance’s latest auction, held in Johannesburg on May 19, yielded the most successful results in 5 years with a 70% confirmed success rate, according to CEO Rael Levitt.
Amongst the notable items sold under the fall of the hammer was the Leeuwdrai Game Farm, a 1556ha farm belonging to a well-known South African businessman.
Situated 75 kilometres north east of Pretoria, the farm hosts 15 species of game and features 5.5m of river frontage along the Elands River. The property’s main house, a 4 bedroomed home, includes its original coal stove and fireplace.
Furthermore, the property features a watering hole for game on the farm and is completely fenced with 2.4m of electric fencing.
Comments Martin Van Zyl of Auction Alliance, head of agricultural sales in the Northern Region, “The strong price achieved for this pristine property is testament to the high investor demand we are currently experiencing for game farms and agricultural land countrywide.
With game farm values persistently on the increase, specifically within areas close to Johannesburg and Pretoria, now is the time to capitalise on these expanses of land”.
